When you’re pregnant, it may not be just your belly which is growing – your feet may be growing as well. Foot growth during pregnancy is due to a number of factors: swelling, weight gain, and the fact that there is a hormone called “relaxin” coursing through your veins and relaxing all of your joints and ligaments.
For some moms, after the baby has been delivered they find that their former foot size has been restored. For others they may find that their foot size has been permanently changed – likely due to falling arches and the permanent loosening of your foot’s ligaments.
It may be disappointing to try to put your feet in a pair of shoes which no longer fit. But one benefit is that this does give you an excuse to go shoe shopping!
A piece of advice: when shopping for new shoes, do so while also planning your brand new post-baby wardrobe. Here at Peachymama, we offer moms a stunning line of fashionable yet comfortable pants which moms can wear now and even when their babies are toddlers, preschoolers, school-age and beyond. To make your shopping trip for new shoes easier, we have laid out which pants work best with which type of shoe below.
The narrow bootleg pants which we carry at Peachymama feature a slightly larger opening than straight-legged jeans, but are significantly less open than a “flared” style of jeans. This style of pant is the most flexible of the lot, being suitable for almost any style of shoes including:
Skinny jeans have risen in popularity over the past decade or so, which is why we offer these to moms today. Fortunately this style of pant can work with nearly any type of shoe, though those which work best include:
Knee-length boots of any kind (just be sure to tuck the pants into the boots!)
Ankle boots with a heel
Booties with a heel
Slim or streamlined sneakers
At Peachymama, we offer a three-quartered gathered pant. We feel that this style is the most versatile while also being the most fashionable available. Some of the best shoes to wear with this style of pant include:

Wrap the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust, waist and hips. When measuring your bust we recommend you wear your nursing bra.
