Date Night Ideas That Won’t Break The Bank

Date Night Ideas That Won’t Break The Bank

Every relationship needs to be nurtured and rejuvenated for both partners to feel a sense of connection. You should continue to spend fun moments with your partner, especially after your little one is born. But once you have a baby, it can be months before you actually go out and enjoy a date night. Whether it is the expense or not having help to look after your baby, going on a date with your loved one can be difficult. However, with some simple improvisations, you can change this around and continue to spark your relationship!

  • Rotate babysitters - If you have friends who have kids, try setting up a deal with them where you look after their kids so that they can enjoy a date night and vice-versa. This way, neither of you will have to spend money on hiring a babysitter. Another benefit is that you can relax and not worry about safety or having to rush back home if you go out for your date.
  • Send the kids away - Sometimes, all you need is a little break in your own home in order to feel re-energized. If you have your parents or other family nearby, send the kids away for a night or two and enjoy this relaxing time with your partner in your home. You will be free from all parental duties and get to remember the old days before the kids came along.
  • Go out for a day date - You don’t need to spend a lot of money to be able to enjoy a meal outside with your partner. Instead of going out for lunch or dinner, go out for breakfast or coffee instead! This is a budget-friendly option, and it allows you to dine and relax outside.
  • Drive away - Nothing can be more relaxing than going on a nice long drive. Try and get a family member or a friend to babysit and go out and enjoy your date. You don’t need to make specific plans to drive to a particular place. Maybe you could pack some goodies and have a picnic outside. Just drive off and enjoy the ride!
  • Couples massage - Try something fun yet relaxing, like a couples massage. This is a great date idea where both you and your partner can enjoy the same relaxing ambiance and experience. If you haven’t tried this already, you should!
  • Date night at home - You can plan something interesting at your own home. Bake or cook your favorite meals together, have some wine or favorite drink, and relax. Try creating a romantic atmosphere at home by lighting some scented candles, listening to some music, and simply enjoying your meal.
  • Game night - If watching a movie at home together seems like a regular routine, try board games instead. There are plenty of adult board games out there that can keep you amused! If you want, invite some of your couple friends to your place once the kids are asleep. All of you can have some fun without worrying about the kids.
  • Have some beer - Wine and beer tastings are usually free, or you may have to pay a nominal fee. You can find them at your local restaurants, so keep an eye out! This could be a fun outing yet one that is easy on your pocket.
  • Go on a walk - It’s not always easy to hire a babysitter or get someone to look after your baby. In this case, taking a walk together and enjoying the scenery and fresh air outside will do you good. You can take your baby in a stroller while you and your partner enjoy chatting over a cup of coffee.
